Our Education Sector Wellbeing and Therapy Services

ColourMeIn Wellbeing CIC is a team of HCPC-registered, MA-qualified Art Psychotherapists specialising in SEND & SEMH, Trauma-informed practice, Neuroinclusion, Reflective practice & supervision, Leadership support, and whole-system wellbeing. We work across schools, MATs, PRUs, alternative provision, FE and local authorities — supporting children, young people, families and the adults around them.

Creative therapies offer a non-verbal, accessible and regulation-supportive route for children and young people who struggle with traditional talking approaches. Evidence shows Art Therapy can improve behaviour and peer relationships, strengthen problem-solving skills, improve attitudes towards school, reduce class exclusions, support emotional regulation, protect academic outcomes, increase engagement and belonging.

Supporting the SEND Reforms

The SEND & AP Improvement Plan emphasises Early Identification; Targeted Support (Target Plus); National Standards; Graduated Approach; Inclusive, regulation-supportive environments; Workforce development; and staff wellbeing. We are running a FREE Workshop on the 11th May at 1pm (online) or 12th May 5:30pm (in person at St Albans Museum) to explore the impact of the Reforms. Click HERE to register.

Our Support Packages

1

Targeted Support (Target Plus)

Some children need more than universal provision to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn. This is where Targeted Support (Target Plus) sits — and where our work naturally belongs.

Our Targeted (SEND / SEMH) Support includes:

  • Art Psychotherapy (individual & group),

  • Arts for the Blues,

  • Assessment of Needs,

  • Family Psychoeducation, and

  • Mental Health Risk Assessments & Action Planning.

2

Team Support

Targeted Support only works when the adults around the child feel regulated, confident and supported. Our Team Support strengthens the workforce capacity required by the SEND Reforms and leads to a more engaged teacher community and leadership team.

This is done through:

  • Reflective Practice;

  • Creative Therapy for staff;

  • CPD & workforce development; and

  • Leadership support.

3

Training support

Understanding what makes us and our students tick and why we do the things that we do.

Delivered by our qualified mental health professionals, our courses will focus on the following topics:

  • Trauma-informed care;

  • Neuroinclusion;

  • Creative wellbeing through a neuroscience lens;

  • Parenting support;

  • Understanding Creative Intelligence;

  • Burnout, compassion fatigue & vicarious trauma; and

  • Working with children & young people with complex needs.
